Over the last 3 ½ years we’ve developed a leading platform for trading commercial-lines insurance products by reimagining the placement process and taking a fresh view of product development.
We’re looking for a Lead Developer to join our team and help lead us through the next phase of our exciting journey. We’re an agile bunch who genuinely break down the barriers between ‘business’ and ‘technology’. The successful candidate will be at the heart of our business, helping set technical direction and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients.
Overall Job purpose:
Leadership of software development capability for C-Quence. Including establishing and maintaining development standards, management of development resource (both perm and contract), development of existing applications and new functionality. This is very much a combined leadership and hands-on role where you will be required to set direction as well as being able to contribute to the daily development tasks.
Key tasks:
- Help to design and build scalable and robust web applications
- Manage development task estimation and sizing
- Manage design and specification of all software assets
- Ensure all code/design meets technical and information security standards
- Drive consistent application of best practice across all development activities
- Proactively participate in peer reviews providing insight for observation and guidance
- Able to work autonomously once up to speed with the technologies and development practices
- Lead recruitment and onboarding of new team members
- Mentor/Train team members

Javascript, Angular 10+, Angular Material 10+, Typescript 4+, CSS, SCSS, HTML, RXJS 6+, MongoDB 3+, Java 10+, ESB, REST API, Openshift, Git (Bitbucket)
Desirable
Ngx-formly, Nodejs, SocketIo, Jenkins, CI/CD, AWS, Docker, Apache Camel, Performance tuning
Other experience/Soft Skills
- Knowledge of the insurance market is advantageous
- Communication skills within and outside of the team
- Experience of leading development projects
- Start-up/scale-up experience advantageous
- Active contribution in supporting the achievement of shared goals
- Working collaboratively with peers
