Background:
C-Quence is an insurance and technology company operating within the commercial mid-market. Established in 2018, our goal is to deliver sophisticated insurance solutions to market using the very best technology tools and data services available. Over the last 3 ½ years we’ve developed a leading platform for trading commercial-lines insurance products by reimagining the placement process and taking a fresh view of product development.
 
We’re looking for a Test Lead to join our team and help navigate us through the next phase of our exciting journey. We’re an agile bunch who genuinely break down the barriers between ‘business’ and ‘technology’. The successful candidate will be at the heart of our business, helping deliver our technical capabilities and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients.
 
Overall Job purpose:
Leadership of software development testing capability for C-Quence. Establishing and maintaining our test strategy and standards, management of testing resource (perm or contract) and management of testing cycles to support our continuous delivery. This is very much a combined leadership and hands-on role where you will be required to set direction as well as being able to actively contribute to the delivery of the testing strategy across the business.
 
Key tasks:
  • Develop a scalable testing strategy which supports our ambitious software development agenda
  • Execute suitable testing to ensure high-quality, performant and robust software is delivered to our clients
  • Assess and advise on suitable tooling to support the execution of our test strategy
  • Actively engage in the requirements, design and development process to ensure a thorough understanding of software systems
  • Drive consistent application of best practice across all test activities
  • Able to work autonomously once up to speed with the technologies and development practices
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding of new team members
  • Mentor/Train team members
 
Skills required:
  • In-depth knowledge of test automation tools is essential. Specifically, knowledge of Cypress is highly advantageous
  • Experience of developing and executing test strategies
  • Knowledge of the insurance market is advantageous
  • Communication skills within and outside of the team
  • Start-up/scale-up experience advantageous
  • Active contribution in supporting the achievement of shared goals
  • Working collaboratively with peers
